Why Garment Remodelling Matters

Garment remodelling is a practical way to keep clothing in use for longer. Instead of replacing a piece that no longer fits your style or needs, the garment is assessed for structure, wear, and usable material before any concept is approved.

This process is especially useful for vintage clothing, sentimental pieces, and items made from quality fabric that still have value. A redesign may involve reshaping a dress or skirt, restyling a shirt or jacket, or turning leftover fabric into a new accessory.

Stitch Savvy approaches each project with a careful review of what can be changed, reused, and improved.

Every project begins with an inquiry and a material assessment. From there, the concept is reviewed, a quote is prepared after inspection, and the final design is approved before the remodelling work starts.

Because each garment is different, the final result depends on seam allowances, fabric condition, and how the original item was constructed. Supplementary materials, if needed, are quoted separately, and the finished piece is checked again at collection.
